Pink Tower and Coral Vase. “With these, I was thinking of rock formations, or something volcanic, like magma flowing. But my scallop pieces are more referencing plant species. There are two plants I’m obsessed with. One is called Puya raimondii, and it’s the biggest bromeliad in existence — 30 or 40 feet in height. I’m really into the texture of the stalk. The other is called the titan arum, which is the largest flowering plant known to exist. The flower is super stinky; it smells like a dead horse, so it’s often called the ‘dead horse arum.’ This is just fun research I do when I’m looking for inspiration!”
