Baggu

When Brooklyn-based Baggu was founded in 2007 by childhood pals Emily Sugihara and Ellen Van Der Laan — along with Sugihara’s mom — the idea was to introduce a bit of glamour to the process of yanking out a reusable tote in line at the grocery store. But with their impeccably chosen palettes and patterns, the nylon bags quickly eclipsed their market origins, becoming go-to fashion accessories for everyone from urban surfer types to hipster moms on the go. When the brand recently expanded into leather goods, we asked them to create a custom line of geometric hand-painted pouches for our Shape Shop pop-up at Creatures of Comfort in the spring of 2012. Those bags are now exclusively for sale online at the Sight Unseen Shop.
