Before making the leap to furniture and industrial design, Luur’s Christopher Stuart was an artist who’d ended up at a large company making prototypes for mass-market companies like GE and RCA. He went back to school for his furniture degree, then created a studio where he could approach design from a more personal, materials- and process-based practice, while exploring the line between art and design. Based in Indianapolis, Luur blends a digital and analog approach to create work that is both honest and beautifully made.
