Confetti System

Julie Ho and Nicholas Andersen call themselves decoration designers if only because no other job title exists for the career the two have fashioned for themselves as makers of gorgeously hued, intricately hand-crafted piñatas, garlands, tassels, fringe, and other festive objects for party decor. The two bonded over a shared love of communal celebration, and since forming their New York–based studio in 2008, they’ve parlayed that love into jealousy-inducing projects like windows and catalog props for J. Crew, runway installations for United Bamboo, stage sets for the band Beach House, and 800 tissue-paper flowers for a Lanvin party in the Hamptons. Their jewelry and objects are sold through Opening Ceremony, Maryam Nassir Zadeh, and Bergdorf Goodman, and the duo have exhibited in art galleries and museums in New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and the Netherlands.
