Fredericks & Mae

Gabriel Cohen and Jolie Signorile, the designers behind Fredericks & Mae, met as students at Oberlin College and rose to fame in 2009 on the basis of a collection of archery arrows the two made by hand using wooden dowels, German silk thread, and naturally molted feathers sourced from bird sanctuaries, peacock farms, and eBay. Since then, the two have made the pursuit of leisure serious business: an ever-growing collection includes cat toys, card games, and bocce ball sets, all hand-crafted and intricately detailed in their Brooklyn studio. In addition to their design practice, the two run a silk-screening studio at Flux Factory Long Island City.
