Philippe Malouin

Philippe Malouin may have ended up getting a design degree from the Eindhoven Academy, but he grew up studying math and chemistry, and it shows in his process-based design practice: His furniture displays an almost OCD-like level of precision and refinement, from a complex series based on architectural scaffolding to the Japanese–chain-mail rug that took 3,000 man-hours to fabricate and inspired his necklace for Sight Unseen. Malouin shows his furniture with high-end galleries such as Fumi, Carwan, and Rossana Orlandi, but this is the first time the London designer has ever made a piece of jewelry.
