Renata Abbade

Renata Abbade has been a stylist, a DJ, and a dancer on tour with the Brazilian band CSS, but since relocating from New York to Los Angeles more than a year ago, the São Paolo–born designer has begun to focus more on housewares and jewelry, inspired by her newly lush surroundings and influenced by her upbringing in 1980s Brazil. Abbade makes use of primarily organic materials, most notably in a series of experimental ceramic necklaces that explore the texture and temperament of clay. Paired with chains, braided nylon rope, or vintage fabrics and scarves, each ceramic piece is subject to the whims of the kiln, and no two are the same.
