Rafael de Cardenas

–Rolled Cork Necklace

In his interiors, Rafael de Cardenas of Architecture at Large often uses stripes as a way to achieve maximum graphic impact while subtly disorienting the viewer. Stripes recur in the designer’s first foray into jewelry as well, here as orderly strips of metallic or gaffer’s tape, marching up and down rolled tubes of recycled cork. The effect is subtler but no less stylish. Created in collaboration with lead studio designer Robert Passov.
