Gray Matters Brooklyn Showroom by Bower

At Gray Matters’s New Bower-Designed Showroom, the Shop Matches the Shoes

Since founding her cult-favorite shoe line Gray Matters in 2015, designer Silvia Avanzi has made sculptural heels her signature — suede-covered cubes, Plexiglas diamonds, hand-painted stones, and lacquered eggs have all offered support for her sandals, pumps, boots, and slingbacks. So it makes sense that when Avanzi went looking for a studio to design her new Brooklyn showroom, she chose Bower, a firm that knows a thing or two about unexpected sculptural details.

Hay Sonos One x Sight Unseen

The Sonos x Hay Speaker Drops Today — We Gave It the Sight Unseen Treatment

Notwithstanding all of the tubular chairs and iridescent consoles, one of our favorite products to launch in Milan this year was the Hay Sonos One — a collaboration between two of our favorite design brands that saw the speaker being offered in five colors from Hay's 2018 palette. We waited seven. long. months. for the speaker to be available for purchase, and today it finally is. At 480 Square Feet, This Pastel Apartment in Barcelona is Tiny Yet Unbelievably Chic

Furniture designer Max Enrich’s Barcelona home is a veritable cabinet of curiosities, all exploded out into the living space. A Thonet bistro chair is suspended from the wall like a painting; a desk is filled with scissors of all varieties and ages; a stone bust adorns a bathroom counter; travertine samples are laid out as decoration; miniature chairs are arranged in a built-in, recessed display — the list could go on. And it is, after all, a list — an accumulation without seeming association, but that possesses surprising consonance.
