Position Title: Lead Metal Fabricator

We are seeking a well-versed and detail-oriented metal worker to join the Donut Shop team. As Lead Metal Fabricator, you will contribute to the fabrication of custom furniture and fixture pieces for retail, hospitality, and residential projects. The ideal candidate must be highly skilled in welding, machining, and forming.

Donut Shop is a growing furniture focused, creative studio made up of friendly designers and fabricators working together to create detail oriented work for spaces through a communicative, approachable and reliable process. Our studio interweaves design theory and practical fabrication techniques allowing us to thoughtfully develop, meticulously plan, and skillfully craft each project.

Responsibilities:

-Fabricate furniture, fixtures, lighting, etc out of ferrous and non-ferrous metals
Collaborate with the team to develop manufacturing plans that align with project requirements.
-Oversee and ensure that all metal projects are being produced with a high degree of quality.
-Organize, maintain and clean the metal shop.
-Collaborate with the wood fabrication team.
-Help with on-site installations.

Requirements:

– Minimum 3-5 years of experience with metal fabrication, including welding, machining, cold/hot forming and metal finishing.
– Experience using a mill, lathe, and TIG/MIG welder.
– The ability to fabricate with high level of precision and detail.
– Able to work self-sufficiently in a fully equipped metal shop.
– Strong understanding of furniture construction techniques, materials, and manufacturing processes.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and address design challenges effectively.
– Organized and efficient approach to fabrication, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
– Availability: 24-40 hours per week, in-person

Compensation: $25 – $35 per hour (commensurate with experience)
