In a year that really appeared to celebrate craft and craftsmanship, it was great to find so many exhibitions dedicated to working with raw materials, particularly clay. I stumbled upon Standpoint Gallery near Hoxton to discover the work of ceramicist Nicola Tassie, whose Craft exhibition drew on three decades of experimentation, consolidation and reflection on her personal investigation into the material.
