“I’m trying to get away from the jars a little bit,” says Fiess. "And these are things in various levels of production. In the lower right-hand corner — the bowl with paper taped to it — is a new series I’m working on. It’s not pottery, it’s more like sculpture; a more decorative object that doesn’t have such a utilitarian function.”
