“The marbled marble tables for Grey Area happened very organically. I had chunks of the marbled marble lying around my studio, and Kyle DeWoody came over for a visit and really responded to them. One of the designs was a version of the original Geometrics table but using the marbled marble for the surface — an idea I had but needed a good enough reason to make! All of the pieces I was working on at the time had to do with materials pretending to be more like other materials, or more audacious versions of themselves, and the marbled marble was definitely one that I wanted in the mix. In my head, the marbled marble gets used in a very fantastical architectural way. There's been some real interest so I'm hopeful this might not be such a fantasy.”
