In Common With refers to the way founders Nicholas Ozemba and Felicia Hung work. “No single piece will ever be just us,” they say. “Together with our glassblowers, ceramicists and metalsmiths, we explore materials, trying anything at least once, and let the process of making inform the design and vice versa.” Case in point: A large part of their new collection was created in collaboration with ceramicist Danny Kaplan, whose rich, tactile surfaces work harmoniously with In Common With’s system-based design. The rest of the collection takes two materials — glass, either hand- or mold-blown, and steel — and combines them into near infinite variations.
