Two-Toned Vases and Velvet Body Pillows — The 2019 Sight Unseen Gift Guide, Part I
By now we’ve come to understand how hotly anticipated our annual gift guides are, so considering that it’s after Thanksgiving, we’ll cut to the chase — we did our gift guides a bit differently this year. We’ll still have one day devoted to each editor, but on the third day we’ve convinced some of our favorite designers and influencers to share their best gifts for giving and receiving. Even more, over on Instagram, you’ll have the chance to win four of the coolest items from each gift guide — the ones pictured in our opening images, which this year were styled by Sean Dooley and photographed by Cody Guilfoyle. (My giveaway quartet includes a sexy black terrazzo vase, a tiny but powerful portable LED lamp, an actually cool flower bouquet, and a workhorse skillet that’s pretty enough to be left on the stove.)
For the rest of my gift guide, I chose things I already own and love and hope you will too — including a cozy, pretzel-shaped iridescent body pillow and a pair of white knee-high boot stunners — as well as the best versions of things that aren’t often considered cool or designed: a beautiful compost bin, a baseball hat for furniture nerds, and a 1000-piece puzzle I’m dying to finish. Happy gifting!
