In New Photos by Charlie Schuck, Bower’s Work Has Never Looked Better
Sight Unseen is sometimes credited with influencing a certain aesthetic in design, but to our minds, there’s someone in our circle pulling an equal, if not greater, weight — over the past four years, photographer Charlie Schuck has been the unseen force behind the look and feel of countless images on our site (often in collaboration with his partner, Natasha Felker). There’s a definitive look — sumptuous curtains, graphic shadows, perfectly brushed carpets, mirrored surfaces, and richly painted walls — and perhaps no studio’s work is better suited to that look than Bower. So when we heard Bower’s brand-new website was up and running — designed by Maison Papercut with brand-new imagery taken by Schuck — we immediately reached out to publish the incredible results. Bower’s aesthetic — all circles and negative space and optical illusions — has never looked better; a magnificent peacock strutting around the homepage is a nicely surreal touch.
