We Took Our Suitcase to The Future Perfect’s Jaw-Dropping New Beverly Hills Home
When we first arrived upon the color scheme for the limited-edition suitcase we made in collaboration with Arlo Skye this year — a calming, on-trend sage for the exterior, and a mustard and blush-pink combo for the interior — we kept imagining how amazing it would look being wheeled around beachy, warm-weather locales like Palm Springs, or Miami Beach. But then, late last year, we caught a glimpse on Instagram of a location that can only be described as the Sight Unseen suitcase’s spirit place, the place in which it was absolutely destined to be photographed: Casa Perfect, the Beverly Hills estate–turned–contemporary furniture showroom for design mecca The Future Perfect. You might remember Casa Perfect from its first incarnation in the Hollywood Hills, which we featured earlier last year. In November, Future Perfect founder David Alhadeff got the keys to a new location, an epically chic, 1950s home in the Trousdale Estates area of Los Angeles that once belonged to Elvis Presley.
The new location isn’t midcentury, which opens it up to a lighter, more contemporary California modern feel. Our suitcase goes quite nicely with the fringed Dimore Studio chairs, the circular Michael Anastassiades lights, and the Phillip Low accessories, if we do say so ourselves. (And look how nicely that John Hogan sculpture fits into our carry-on, for those days when you just can’t help yourself and make a $3,500 cash-and-carry purchase?) So what are you waiting for? Head over to the Arlo Skye website to snag one of the remaining suitcases, and book your appointment now to see the gorgeous new Casa Perfect in person.
