A 19th-Century Amusement Park Inspired This Playful New Line of Accessories
Normann Copenhagen seemingly does not have an off switch. The Danish design brand, with its constant stream of new launches, will launch next month an extensive, 300-piece accessories collection in collaboration with Tivoli, the very old and extremely popular amusement park and pleasure garden in Copenhagen. No small feat, making sleek and contemporary pieces that fit with a place known for its wooden roller coaster, carousels, and twinkling lights. Yet through a range of items that includes tableware, vases, textiles, and lighting, the brand has done it. Among our favorites: a blown glass Pond Bowl inspired by reflections on a lake in the middle of Tivoli Gardens; the Bazaar Vase with its earth tones and architectural undulations; the soft and playful Balloon Vases in transparent pale blues, warm grays and caramels, inspired by a renowned Ferris wheel; and a simple, Calder-like mobile, with playful golden rings to move about.
