In February of 2018, we were Google-searching glassware for another story when we stumbled upon a series of objects from the ’50s that awoke in us an obsession for thick-stemmed wine glasses that we never knew we had: Kaj Franck’s series of colorful goblets, which we immediately researched like crazy and wrote about here. Two years later, our obsession has only grown, and it makes perfect sense: We’re now sitting at the intersection of two major trends, one for tubular furniture and fat legs, and one for the kind of castle-fantasy maximalism that encompasses things like rich brocade fabrics, divans, chunky wooden furniture, and — yup — goblets. Granted when we went searching for cool, modern ones that are actually currently for sale we came up somewhat short, but we still think this is the thing to have on your table now, whether you’re shopping retail or eBay trolling.
