Two Days Left to See Our Sight Unseen Collection Show, Featuring Work by 23 Designers, in New York City

New York Design Week is in full swing, and while we’ll be featuring a round-up of all of the excellent things we’ve seen later this week, today we’re putting a spotlight on our own collection, which is on view in New York through Wednesday. The show features 23 designers and studios from our newly launched Sight Unseen Collection, for which we chose furniture, lighting, and objects from a stable of emerging and mid-career designers from around the world — all of which can be ordered directly through Sight Unseen. For the exhibition, we created an immersive experience inside Voltz Clarke gallery on the Lower East Side, with the furniture pieces backdropped with paintings by Paris-based artist Heather Chontos and a sea of pale-green carpet, courtesy of Shaw Contract.

The show is a mix of new and old. Among the work debuting at the show is an incredible three-piece collection by Alexis & Ginger, which features pools of opalescent and transparent stained glass inlaid into the surface of a table top or inset in the back of a chair; an outdoor collection from Muhly, featuring a firepit with oversized ball feet and a powder-coated lilac bench; a new chair by Objects & Ideas, made from 16 layers of carved wood and inspired by the beavers who live in a pond outside the designers’ Canadian studio; a gorgeously glazed lamp by Episode Studio; new, nightstand-sized versions of Sohyun Yun’s infinitely customizable Tone Tables; Mock Studio’s epically-sized armchair; and Cultivation Objects’ new upholstered seating. The exhibition is also a great place to see and source some of our best-selling favorites, including Mike Ruiz-Serra’s Quad coffee table, and Arvo Ray’s stacked lamp.
