The Best of the 2022 Salone del Mobile — Part VI

Remember when we said that it was impossible to actually see all of the good things that launched during this month’s Milan Furniture Fair? Well, apparently it’s equally impossible to actually capture all of those launches in digital form, because the hits just keep coming into our inbox. So today, we’re devoting an extra post to some of our favorites from a week that already seems like a lifetime ago. (Please, take us back to risotto and martinis!) Some of the highlights: Kvadrat, which launched the textile collection Quotes in collaboration with artist Alain Biltereyst, who translated the graphic language of his paintings into a series of curtains and rugs made from natural and recyclable materials; Stories of Italy, which turned its signature Murano-blown glass into a series of lamps; Zaven, whose sofa for Zanotta is by turns poufy and sleek; a slew of reissues, including the gorgeous ’60s-era Acrilica lamp by Joe and Gianni Colombo, newly edited by Oluce with a marble base; and Raawii, who partnered with Memphis designer George Sowden to create an installation featuring Sowden’s new lights, new Raawii offerings including a Sowden-designed stool, and an immersive room fully tiled by Sowden’s partner, Nathalie du Pasquier. Come with us on our final(?) journey through the streets of Milan!
