Kueng Caputo’s Kaleidoscopic New Furniture, On View in Copenhagen

Since the beginning of their practice, the Swiss duo Kueng Caputo have been obsessed with what happens when colorful particulate matter is somehow fused together. After all, their first, attention-grabbing project was a series of chairs in which pigmented sand and mortar were hardened in a mold and then chiseled into shape. Their newest works, currently on view at Copenhagen's Étage Projects in a exhibition called Ciao Amico Mio, follow in that same vein.

The South Korean Designer Making “Art Futons” A Thing

Sang Hoon Kim's Foam Series is a collection of seats, bookcases, chaises, tables, and even rugs made from colorful, flexible memory foam that's mixed in varying solutions to create levels of texture and cushion. The results have a blocky form language that's reminiscent of Kwangho Lee or Max Lamb mixed with the color sensibility of a Chris Schanck; the chaise is a particular favorite, resembling as it does the coolest futon you could ever imagine.

An Architecture Photographer on Ricardo Bofill’s Social-Housing Masterpiece, Walden 7

Ricardo Bofill's Walden 7 is grouped around five courtyards and encircled by curved, terracotta balconies that give the building the appearance of having barnacles. Most of the apartments face both out towards the sea and into one of the courtyards; at many levels, a system of bridges and walkways allow residents an array of vertiginous vistas. We'd seen photos of the place, of course, but when we received these images — taken by trend consultant and travel blogger Pauline Chardin — we had to share.

Allied Maker’s New Tribeca Showroom is a Lush Garden Oasis

Designed in collaboration with architect Marshall Shuster of Mesarch Studio, Allied Maker's new Manhattan showroom — which used to be a dentist's office — features the whole range of Ryden and Lanette Rizzo's work, with each vignette punctuated by flower arrangements, plants, and cascading vines courtesy of Buds of Brooklyn.

Rather than squirrel away his accumulated possessions in some hidden storage space, Design Miami's Rodman Primack chooses to live with and share the things he collects in his everyday life. “There are people who are equally aesthetic and equally interested in art and design but who don’t feel any need to actually physically have the item with them," he says. "Clearly, I feel a need to have objects — to be able to touch them, look at them, hold them, and actually use them.”

The Interiors Trend With More Staying Power Than Millennial Pink — And How to Incorporate It Into Your Own Home

Metaflora recently teamed up with West Elm to create a series of faux botanical bouquets — orchids mixed with fan palms, proteas mixed with banana leafs or feathers, and the ubiquitous anthurium opening its waxy shell against a huge, graphic palm frond. The bouquets look shockingly real — the ends of the palm leaves are even browned and frayed a bit to mimic decay — and are also a shockingly affordable way to bring a sense of drama into anyone's home.
