Like her restaurant, Dimes, Sabrina De Sousa's impeccably appointed Chinatown apartment is filled with objects she created herself, which is why we’ve been begging her for ages to photograph it — a feat we've finally pulled off thanks to our editorial collaboration with Sonos. We've teamed up with the smart speaker brand for a new storytelling series called Creative Women at Home, in which we’ll visit the homes of four influential women and find out how they live, work, relax, and listen.

Buying One of These Affordable Artist Editions Will Go to Help a Major Humanitarian Crisis

Pattern for Yemen, an initiative to raise money for the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, was organized by Melbourne's A Friend of Mine and The Souvenir Society, who asked 15 major artists to create an artwork on cloth in an edition of 50 — a wash of green ink from Ronan Bouroullec, an exploded geometry by Nathalie Du Pasquier, colorful grids by Darkroom designer Rhonda Drakeford, a blocky composition by Michael Wall, and more.

Studio Sayso’s Colorful, Affordable, Goes-With-Everything New Furniture Collection

For Sight Unseen OFFSITE, Sophie Lou Jacobsen and Sarita Posada are launching Studio Sayso, which unites Jacobsen’s product design practice with Posada’s expertise in interiors. The studio’s Collection 01, which is currently on view at Creatures of Comfort, features colorful tables, chairs, and lamps inspired in part by Posada’s hometown outside Jerico, Colombia, where each house is painted a different vibrant hue.

The Chilean Floral Artist Taking Over Your Instagram Feed

Getting ahold of Carolina Spencer isn’t easy. When she’s not designing ceramic vases, the Barcelona-based creative behind the floral Instagram sensation Matagalan is busy finessing ikebana-like installations for the foyers of the relaxed fashion label Masscob, or refreshing weekly foliage amongst the city’s flourishing cafés and coffee shops — Casa Bonay and Satan’s Coffee among them. In fact, you’re probably already familiar with her work even if you aren’t based in the Catalonian capital. In her feed, artfully balanced ceramic totems and ikebana-inspired botanicals make for an enviably satisfying scroll.

So it's refreshing — and kind of quaint — that the new book subscription and delivery service [reads] is curated by actual humans.

Take a Tour of Our 2017 Sight Unseen OFFSITE Show, Part I

Conventional wisdom suggests that for an event to be considered truly successful, it's supposed to get bigger every year. But here at Sight Unseen, we've always put curation before commerce, and so when we began pondering back in October whether Sight Unseen OFFSITE might benefit from a tighter, smaller, more elevated edit, we had no qualms whatsoever about scaling down. Whereas in 2016 we hosted more than 70 exhibitors in 20,000 square feet, our 2017 show featured just 25 exhibitors in 13,000 square feet — and yet it was widely credited as being the best we've ever done.
