A New Australian Textiles Collection Inspired By ’70s Shag

We've never been shy about our love of shag, fringe, and all things hairy, so does it come as a surprise that we're extremely into the new Textural line of rugs and cushions by Byron Bay–based Australian brand Pampa? Featuring oversized fringes and heavy weaves, and inspired by '70s-era shag pile carpets and cozy log cabins, each piece in the collection is handmade by artisans in Argentina.

Meet Greta Cevenini, The Best Italian Interiors Stylist You’ve Never Heard Of

Greta Cevenini has been quietly circling behind the scenes of the Italian design world for the past few years, styling lookbooks for Spotti and cc-tapis and envisioning spreads for Icon Design; she most recently took the helm for Cassina’s new catalogue, which was released during Salone. Her work is quiet — cool and rich with light-touch visual references well before they become ubiquitous, leaning more on texture and subtle color variations rather than dramatic, scene-stealing statements.

The Best of Milan Design Week 2019, Part III — Salone del Mobile

Today we're sharing the best launches from Salone del Mobile, the 2.5 million-square-foot fairgrounds outside the city, where some of our favorites included the Bouroullecs' découpaged ceramic vases for Vitra, Stefan Diez's purple modular recyclable polypropylene sofa for Magis, and Michael Anastassiades's expressive track lighting system for Flos — possibly the first and only time we'll wax poetic about track lighting on this site.

For her latest collection, Danish designer Maria Bruun teamed up with fellow Royal ​D​anish ​A​cademy of ​D​esign alum Pernille Andersen, a set designer with a strong background in photography. Both designers came at the collaboration with a desire to strip everything down to a minimum and focus on the idea of “non-space."

These 3D Interior Images Have Us Drooling Over a Tile Catalog

In the old days, this would have been one hell of an expensive photoshoot: Sourcing design icons-in-the-making from people like Lex Pott, Faye Toogood, and Sabine Marcelis; building out a set; and then painting, styling, and photographing the whole thing. But perhaps this will be known as the year when the rendered, three-dimensional image became almost more exciting — and decidedly cheaper — than the real thing, thereby making it almost de rigueur for brands to invest in these kinds of digital set-ups, no matter the product.
