Site Specific: LA at Austere, 2015

Invited by the downtown Los Angeles design shop Austere to curate a selling exhibition of new furniture and products, we called upon our favorite LA-based independent design studios, including Only Love Is Real, Waka Waka, Eric Trine, and more.

Bird And The City With Iittala, 2015

In 2015 Iittala asked five top international bloggers to tell glass artist Oiva Toikka what they love about their hometown, which he translated into five city-specific birds. Sight Unseen was chosen to represent the city of New York.

An Afternoon With Mondaine, 2015

Mondaine approached us to introduce our readers to its Helvetica watch series through a "day in the life of Sight Unseen" article, which followed co-founder Monica Khemsurov to the studios of favorite Brooklyn makers.

Dolby Art Editorial Series, 2015

When Dolby moved into its new San Francisco headquarters in 2015, the audio-technology pioneer marked the occasion by inviting 36 artists to install works in the building — and by asking Sight Unseen to feature them.

Paypal Epic Experience, 2015

In late 2014, Mistress Creative asked Sight Unseen to participate in Paypal's Epic Experience project, in which a dozen web personalities were asked to create a charity auction around an experience they'd host with the winners.

Sight Unseen OFFSITE, 2015

For the second edition of OFFSITE, Sight Unseen partnered with Ford to fill 12,000 square feet of space with work by top up-and-coming design talents, including an immersive, show-stopping installation designed by Brooklyn firm The Principals.

OFFSITE at Collective Design, 2015

During the 2015 New York Design Week, we curated a satellite of our Sight Unseen OFFSITE show inside the Collective Design fair, featuring the work of six up-and-coming American design talents working at the gallery level.

Think Big Pop-Up at Space 15 Twenty, 2015

For its second in-store partnership with Urban Outfitters — this one hosted at its Los Angeles retail concept, Space 15 Twenty — Sight Unseen produced Think Big!, a pop-up shop inspired by a 1980s-era Soho store of the same name.

Sight Unseen x Capsule New York, 2015

In 2015, the fashion trade fair Capsule brought Sight Unseen onboard as a partner and consultant, asking us to recruit some of our favorite design brands to join its lineup and help establish the fair as a new destination for contemporary home design.

Tinseltown with Refinery 29, 2014

For the third edition of its Tinseltown holiday shopping bazaar, the tastemaking fashion mega-site Refinery29 asked Sight Unseen to join the event as a co-host, inviting a selection of our favorite makers to set up shop in the space.

SU x PAOM for The Standard, 2014

In December of 2014, Sight Unseen teamed up with the print-on-demand clothing website Print All Over Me for a limited-edition capsule collection stocked exclusively at the Standard Spa Miami Beach during Art Basel Miami Beach.

SU 5th Anniversary with Bombay Sapphire, 2014

In November of 2014, we celebrated Sight Unseen’s birthday by gathering 200 of our closest friends and clients at the stunning roof bar of the McCarren Hotel & Pool in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, in partnership with Bombay Sapphire and Chelsea Hotels.

The American Design Hot List with DWR, 2014

Sight Unseen’s annual American Design Hot List is an editorial award for the names to know in American design. In 2014, Design Within Reach signed on as a partner, allowing us to devote a full week of coverage to that year’s winners.

Fall Pop-Up Shop at Space 98, 2014

When Urban Outfitters opened Space Ninety 8, its three-story concept store and restaurant in Brooklyn, it invited Sight Unseen to curate a monthlong shop-in-shop — designed by Moving Mountains — featuring new jewelry and housewares.

The First 59 Minutes with Ikea, 2014

Sight Unseen was invited to produce an editorial package and Instagram campaign for IKEA’s “Show Us Your IKEA: The First 59” program, which focused on how IKEA products can help you make the most out of the first hour of your day.

50 Things From America with COS, 2014

When COS made its U.S. e-commerce debut, it celebrated with a virtual exhibition of objects made in each of America’s 50 states. We consulted on the content of the exhibition and created an editorial campaign to promote the project.

Creative Women at Work Series with Shinola, 2014

In 2014, Shinola looked to Sight Unseen to help increase the visibility of its New York flagship among women, leading Sight Unseen to conceive an editorial series profiling influential New York curators and designers called Creative Women at Work.

Sight Unseen OFFSITE, 2014

In 2014, Sight Unseen launched the first annual Sight Unseen OFFSITE, a curated design exhibition coinciding with New York Design Week that provides a platform for the most directional, cutting-edge ideas in contemporary furniture design.

Modern Craft Series with Lincoln, 2014

Sight Unseen was one of a very select group of tastemaking editorial websites invited to participate the Lincoln Motor Company's Hello Again campaign and microsite, for which we created content around our favorite makers and innovators.

Seattle Week with Filson, 2014

The Seattle-based company Filson partnered with us on a special editorial series devoted to the city’s blossoming creative scene, profiling designers and makers, as well as taking readers behind the scenes at Filson’s own factory.

The Noho Design District, 2010-2013

In 2010, Sight Unseen launched the Noho Design District, New York Design Week's most exciting platform for new ideas and emerging talents. The design festival ran until 2014, when it was relocated and rebranded as Sight Unseen OFFSITE.

Pop-Up at Creatures of Comfort, 2012

When fashion mecca Creatures of Comfort wanted to develop a clientele around its growing design offerings, it invited us to create an in-store pop-up. The Shape Shop featured geometry-inspired objects commissioned by Sight Unseen.

Paper View with Karlsson’s Vodka, 2012

When Karlsson’s Gold Vodka asked Sight Unseen to be part of its Unfiltered project, championing creative initiatives celebrating craft and process, we produced the print edition Paper View, featuring 25 of our favorite designers and brands.

Handcrafted Modern Launch with USM, 2010

We teamed up with Rizzoli to present a night with Leslie Williamson, hosted by USM, to launch the photographer's first book: Handcrafted Modern, which offers readers a glimpse into the homes of Modernism's most influential designers.
